Civitavevecchia (Rome), Italy

Today we followed a different plan.  Since there is a huge celebration in Rome tomorrow there are    3 million extra visitors in the city.  The catholic church is celebrating a couple of their popes, so many catholics have come to watch the ceremony.  We have been in Rome a few times before so we opted to remain on the ship today and use it as a work day.  As you are aware, I was quite behind in publishing the blog.  I had written them but not yet typed them on the laptop.  Soooo, today we spent the entire day writing them online and then Bob added the photos.  Also, while I was typing Bob was busily packing our suitcases we are sending home at the end of the cruise.  We are sending five huge suitcases home and will take only a couple of small ones with us for the next two months.  We're not yet finished, but he made a lot of progress today.

Our world cruise ends next Wednesday morning and we will begin the second phase of our trip, which will be to drive around Europe, the U.K., Ireland, Iceland and then fly to New York, where we will meet our 15-year old twin granddaughters.

The third, and final, phase of our world journey will be a road trip from New York back to California with our grandkids.  Sooooo excited about that part of the trip.  We have missed them so very much for the last four months.

So, there are no pictures from today.  However, we will be in Livorno, Italy tomorrow and will be on tour so I will write again tomorrow.  Only a couple more days until we see our daughter, Misha and her husband, Naoki.  Can't wait!!!!
